The city of Novalja has 4000 inhabitants who are mostly engaged in tourism (logically enough). The kindness and openheartedness of the people of Novalja is best demonstrated at the numerous events and folk evenings organized throughout the summer.
Novalja is surrounded by sandy and pebble beaches, of wich the Zrce, Strasko and Planjka beaches were awarded the Blue Flag. Of all beaches, the Zrce Beach is the most frequented one. Over time, it has become known as the Croatian Ibiza because of the great entertainment it offers.
During the 90s, it became known as the perfect place for summer entertainment. It still enjoys the image of the main founder of party tourism in Croatia.Today it is mostly frequented by young people, from 18 to 25 years of age. Theme parties, beach volleyball and soccer tournaments, as well as beach tennis matches are organized daily.
If all this is still not enough for you, the beach offers other amenities as well:bungee jumping off of a crane above the sea, the perfect way to test your courage pretending to be a free-falling eagle. There are also jet-skis, scooters, toboggans, pedal boats, andvarios food services available. The only thing you are missing now is accomodation faceilities are located in close by settlements. Thanks to the isolated nature of the beach, the loud music coming from the clubs does not bother anyone, which makes the day and night entertainment possible.
